Our History
Founded more than 40 years ago
Gopher Tackle company started operation some 40 years ago by founder, Conrad “Connie” Peterson, in Cuyuna, Minnesota. Conrad was an engineer for a major computer company and his favorite hobby was fishing. When fishing tournaments sprang up in the 1970’s, his fishing knowledge and ability helped to develop many new concepts in lure design to gain the winning edge.

This jig has gained in popularity every year since its first use in the late 70’s. Bass fishermen use it on plastic worms. All the jigs are suited for many types of plastic bait and for other species. The flat back protects and sheds debris from snagging the plastic bodies. The double barbs will hold it in place even through the most difficult underwater weed beds. This is often been copied but has never been equaled in balance nor in quality.
